A range of different editing skills in a series of different projects I have worked on/made.

Dance music video

Although I am still working on it, this is a music video of 4 talented dancers dancing to a remix of Titanium. I choreographed some of it for my a level dance but I thought i'd make a video of their choreography so I incorporated slow motion split leaps...etc  (I only got up to 1:42)

Scriptwriting - Nina(short film)

Below is the script I wrote myself for my a2 media studies short film.



NINA

~Scene 1~ Entering the counsellors office (match on action, shot reverse shot, over the shoulder shot)

Counsellor:  Hello, sorry i didn't catch your name?

Nina:  (Silence)

Counsellor:  Um... ok then (Disregard this) let's get started. What is the reason you are here today?

Nina:  (Silence)

Counsellor:  can you confirm that there was no difficulties or concerns in your childhood?


*Camera zooms into her eyes and the flashback begins*



~Scene 2~ Walking along the street with cheat cuts for change of clothing of young Nina with voice over

Voiceover:  The sun comes up every morning, just like I walk along this street every morning. I am loveable. I am wanted, and that glimmer of sunlight that essence of nature. The sun, it is as bright as a scared child's night light. That's what makes all the difference, it not only gives me hope but, it tells me that someday, my summer will come.

*Happy flashback*



~Scene 3~ Flashback of young Nina playing in the park with her friends (fuzzy filter to establish that it is a flashback)

Friends and Nina:  Singing ring a ring of roses with high pitched laughter



~Scene 4~ Back to the street but Nina is dressed slightly more maturely to look older



Voiceover: It all comes back. Every word, every hurt, every moment. How could you ever understand where I come from? You can not hear or see or feel. You won't remember my story because you haven't walked my path, you haven't seen what my eyes have seen. My past defines me so this is who I am, I am
Unseen
Unheard
Unwanted
That is what I am, if even I am anything

*Slightly sadder flashback*



~Scene 5~ A flashback to the park again but this time Nina is sitting on her own and her so called "friends" are leaving her/making fun of her. (over the shoulder shot of Nina of the swing and friends in the distance)

(Sad, quiet music?)



~Scene 6~ Back to the street but now Nina is much older but she is still walking, this emphasises how her life is very repetitive.

Voiceover:  I still don't understand the purpose of my life, the purpose of my footsteps walking the earth everyday. My existence is invisible to an extent where even negativity is an understatement. In the end what we regret most is the chances we never took, but how can I take a chance if those chances are improbable, or an illusion to my eye, or a concealment to my verve.

~Scene 7~ Final flashback to Nina being abused or shouted at by her mother in her home



~Scene 8~  back to Nina on the street, she's about to approach her house

Voiceover:  However, I know that I, alone am morally responsible for my actions, my speech, and my existence.

*POV shot of Nina looking up at house when she suddenly receives a text message- diegetic sound of text and text appears on screen*

Bully:  Menacing laugh

*Deep focus, over the shoulder shot of bully in the background (Louise) that sent the text message and laughs, she starts walking toward Nina, knocks Nina's phone out of her hand showing it smashed on the floor, the bully then hits Nina and pushes her over, Nina falls and hits her head in slow motion leading to a blackout*



~Scene 9~ Counsellors office

*fade from black with iris as though eye is opening*

Counsellor:  Sorry, I didn't get your name?

Nina:  ~pause~ Nina... Nina Richmond

*Counsellor realises that she was the bully years and years ago*

Nina short film

This is my film poster that I made for my a2 media studies short film which I edited on pixlr.

Below is what I have filmed and edited so far on my short film, however it is not yet finished as there will be a voiceover over the top of this music and the flashbacks need to be filmed to complete it.

Photography

On set for a feature film !

Through networking and who I know, I was lucky enough to be invited on set for a feature film called "On A Prayer" alongside Michael Mckell! I helped set out equipment such as jibs and I also held the sound boom behind a curtain in a certain scene. 

Dance

These are some photos from a show I performed in with Starlight Dance and Musical Theatre School. The show was a ballet production of The lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in which I was a maid to the four children.

Even though dancing may sound completely irrelevant to filmmaking, the specific movements of actors caught in a specific moment to make that more powerful or meaningful is very crucial when directing.

Experimenting with my camera

This is a video I made not long after I had gotten my camera. I decided to experiment on my dog with different camera shots and angles, which are not brilliant due to lack of equipment. However, overall I am impressed with how it ended up considering people say you shouldn't work with children or animals!

Photography

Below are some pictures I had taken when I had first gotten my camera. Although I was in search for a location to film a music video with some dancers, I decided to take some pictures that I could look back on and use for further projects.

What influenced me ?

The biggest project I have worked on/made is my short film for my a2 media studies course. However, I was influenced by a trip I went on in 2013 to Ecuador. As seen in my script I wrote, my film is about bullying and the emotional journey a young girl went through. I was influenced to make this film about bullying because as most people are unaware, bullying, abuse, or crime never occurred to me when I was in Ecuador, so I felt that to some people that might watch my short film it may be something they can refer themselves to or something they can learn from.

On the same day the Resident Evil game commercial was filmed, us 'kids' were taken aside to film a teaser trailer for 'Zombie Playground'.

Through networking I was offered the opportunity to spend a day in Reading to film a Resident Evil game commercial for Capcom in which I played a zombie.
